November 2, 2020 Catechism on Homosexual Persons Reverend Fathers: The quotation attributed by international media to Pope Francis on homosexual unions has created some confusions and perplexity among you and even more among our parishioners. Instead of resorting to an explanation of what the Holy Father meant or did not mean, I have chosen to prepare the enclosed Question Answer Catechism, presenting the Church’s teachings on the matter, based on written issuances by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. I hope to assist you in positively understanding the Church’s moral doctrine on the matter (positive orthodoxy) rather than the usual reactionary apologetics. That in all things God may be glorified and God’s truth be proclaimed in season and out of season. I trust that you will avail of this catechetical tool to better form the conscience of our Catholic faithful on this issue according to the mind of the Church.
