Feast of Our Lady of Fatima
Seminar for Parish Secretaries and Bookkeepers
My dear brother priests:
In pursuit of one of our pastoral goals in our ICTHUS vision which is the creation of a common accounting system for parishes and Catholic schools from the paradigm of stewardship, we are now ready to train the church staff in the new standardized parish accounting system as recommended during our last clergy meeting.
The seminar for the parish secretaries, cashiers and bookkeepers will be held on October 20, 2011 at the Guerrero Hall of the archdiocesan chancery from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. The seminar module will include guidelines and accounting for non accountants and an orientation into the standardized computerized parish accounting system. For obvious reasons, the seminar participants must bring their laptops so that they can follow the discussions.
The seminar will be given free of charge but the participants must bring their own merienda and lunch.
It is important that you send your trusted and computer literate parish staff who will handle the parish accounting system. The standardized accounting system will be implemented simultaneously by January 1, 2012 in all our parishes.
Needless to say, priests who are interested to learn the system themselves may attend the seminar. The priests need to make a reservation at the Chancery for your lunch and snacks.
I cannot overemphasize the importance of this seminar for the milestone policy for the archdiocese. I am confident that you share this vision as manifested by the unanimous approval during our clergy meeting. Thank you even now.
